  • Oakleigh Baptist Church is a church based in the South Eastern Suburbs of Victoria Australia that meets as a local community and extends online across Australia and around the world. We welcome you to get to know more about us and join us in person or online from anywhere around the world.

    We are keen to encourage one another towards a life that honours and glorifies God through daily prayer, Bible reading and holy living. Though none of us are perfect, we are being perfected to become more like our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

    • We meet in groups regularly for prayer and Bible Study outside our weekly Sunday worship service, and love to encourage others to join us.

  • We are called to be Disciples of Jesus. To love Him, to follow Him, to worship Him and to gather to worship with our Spiritual family. God is a Holy, Mighty, Gracious, Loving, Just and Forgiving God who alone is worthy of our worship.

  • We believe in One God, existing in three persons: Father, Son (Jesus Christ) and Holy Spirit.

    We believe that salvation, a gift of God’s grace, can only be found through faith in the finished work of Christ, who died on the cross of Calvary to pay the price for our sin. We believe He rose again, and we are eagerly awaiting His return, where we will meet Him in the air as promised, along with all who have personally put their faith in Him.

    We believe that Jesus sent the Comforter (Holy Spirit), who dwells in all believers, as a guarantee that we belong to Him and of the inheritance that awaits us. It is the Holy Spirit who empowers us to serve our Lord and one another; helping, teaching, preparing and gifting us for acts of service that God has prepared for us, which we do because we love Him.

    • We often celebrate Communion together to remember and proclaim the death, burial, resurrection and return of Jesus.

    • We practice baptism by immersion as a first step and public profession of faith for all who have repented of their sin and put their faith in Jesus alone for salvation.

    • We emphasise that every Christian is a full-time minister of Jesus, called to share the Good News of the Gospel and make disciples. We are committed to equipping everyone to this end.

Pastor Brad Rumble

Brad has served as Pastor of Oakleigh Baptist Church since 2004, after ministry in Stawell and Croydon Hills Baptist churches. He is married to Ros, and they have two adult daughters, Emily and Cara, all of whom love the Lord and serve in ministry at OBC.

Brad is called to preach God’s Word without apology; to employ his gifts in music and singing to welcome people to worship the Lord in song; and to understand the times and what the Bible has to say about the days we are living to warn and to encourage people about the day of the glorious appearing of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Brad enjoys fitness, especially running and CrossFit: (“For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come” - 1 Timothy 4:8)
